Project Progress Update

The preliminary scope of work includes preparing and re-plastering both the Competition and Recreation Pools.

Upcoming Milestones:

• Design Kickoff meeting: November 11, 2025
• Site Investigation: December 3, 2025
• Schematic Designs due January 30, 2026
• Design Completion expected by the end of Q2 2026
• City permitting, bidding and contract award expected in Q3 2026

Project Features

Pool Preparation and Plastering:

• Prepare and re-plaster the Competition and Recreation Pools.
• Coordinate with the City of San Diego on durable plaster specifications.
• Complete necessary crack repairs

Competition Pool Improvements:

• Replace broken ladder step inserts.
• Install eight stainless steel eyelets for water polo equipment.

Gutter and Drainage Assessment:

• Assess gutter and drainage needs.
• Recommend solutions, such as:
  • Reworking gutters for flush deck grates.
  • Sealing exposed concrete.
  • Repairing perimeter slot drains.

Pool Deck Improvements:

• Remove existing Mystic coating.
• Apply durable chemical-resistant coating.
• Ensure slot drains remain functional.
• Verify ADA-compliant slopes.

Tile Work:

• Repair or replace coping, deck, or pool-bottom tiles as needed.
• Full tile replacement only if justified.
