SDCCD Class Types

In the schedule of classes, you will see different formats of online classes: Fully Online, Partially Online, HyFlex, and Online Live. Classes may use a variety of technology such as Canvas (learning managment system), Adobe, Microsoft Office and more to help with instruction experience. Please check the class scheudle and the instructor of the course for specifics. See the table below or the Online Class Options video for descriptions of each class type.

How Will My Class Be Conducted? All class work is conducted online through Canvas without a requirement for real-time/live meetings.  You will meet with your instructor online during scheduled class times via Zoom and Canvas.  Some required class meetings will be conducted on-campus. The remainder of the class will be online.  Students can join the scheduled class session online or on campus based on student preference. The rest of the classwork is conducted online. (HyFlex is a blend of Partially Online and flexible instruction) 
What tools will be used while taking Fully Online, Online Live, Partially Online and HyFlex class?  Classroom technology may include using Canvas, an online classroom system with discussions, assignments, and grades as well as online meetings using Zoom and Office 365 suite (e.g; Word and PowerPoint). Please check the technical requirements webpage and your instructor's syllabus for information specific to your course

How to search the class Schedule

You can search for classes through your mySDCCD Portal or the Class Search Portal.

Use the available filters and toggles to refine your search by subject, college campus, and class type.

The class type filter allows you to view courses offered in specific modalities such as Fully Online, Online Live, Partially Online, and Hyflex. So you can easily find classes that fit your preferred format.

Along with the class search filters you can search for Zero Textbook Cost (ZTC) or Low Cost Textbook (LCT) courses.

When searching for classes you will be able to identify Zero Textbook Cost and Low Cost Textbooks by looking at the Book column on the right-hand side. The SDCCD Class search with the Low Cost Textbook section highlighted

You will also be able to review the course details to any required textbooks or supplies. If the course is ZTC or LCT more information to the type of materials and cost will be listed for you.
